1. Connections of two branch offices of a mid-size company: transmission of optical data via the SDH network with an SDH multiplexer

The Problem: The use of the leased fiber optic lines between two branch offices is to be optimized for the transmission of voice and data signals. An inexpensive solution was needed that would quickly pay for itself. In both branch offices, 100BaseT Ethernet networks were available. A boundary value was the volume of voice traffic between the two branch offices, which was very high.

The Solution: By installing two S-MUX 155 units connected via an SDH network, voice information and data is transmitted parallel to each other. For operation and maintenance measures, the units can be centrally managed.

The Benefits: The easy installation and inexpensive connection of this solution paid for itself very quickly. The plain management and the possibility of transmitting the full 100 Mbps allows a fast data transmission.

2. Project with an Asian telephone carrier: Using modular multiplexers for flexible access solutions

The Problem: In order to be able to offer its customers flexible access solutions, the carrier had to provide them with various interfaces such as E1/T1, V.24, V.35, V.36 and 10BaseT. The company wanted to react to customer needs quickly. Thus, a modular solution was needed to be able to change the interfaces in a minimum of time.

The Solution: Modular FME-M multiplexers have the possibility to be run with six different interface modules. Thus, different customers can receive individual services. The data are transmitted via the carrier's SDH network and is then passed on by the multiplexers to the customer via optical fibers. All of the units can be managed centrally with Pandatel's PAGRIS software.

The Benefits: Utmost flexibility and easy management of the units. The carrier met his customer demands quickly. Different interfaces are no longer a problem.
