A Highway Operator in France wanted to optimize operational efficiency while providing high reliability to the safety critical, highway cellular network. The choice was made to use Pandatels COP-FE product line to create a single integrated network delivering: Toll quality Voice-E1, Ethernet for users and Network Management, while providing a roadmap for future technology and services.

   

Key Challenges:
Mobile operators often switches between wireless stations to optimize signal quality. During the switch, traditional TDM over IP equipment would need to re-locate TDM path, creating temporary service interruption.

At the same time, Flexibility and Efficiency are also required, such that the network is simple to manage while integrating local E-1s with local Ethernets, and transport these protocols over an Ethernet Backbone. Toll quality voice with minimal latency, voice Prioritization, and Ethernet with a differentiated Paths and Priorities for Voice and Data Traffic, are a few most critical requirements.

  Why Pandatel?


Pandatel COP series products are more than traditional TDM over IP equipment. It uses Circuit Emulation over Packaet technology, which means data on each end does not "feel" there is a different network, IP network, that it is passing through. Implemented in the core FPGA of the product, Pandatel COP products do not cause disconnect during the switching between wireless stations, thanks to the permenent leased-line service offered by the COP.
